West Wallsend Senior Football Club’s committee would like to make a statement following this week’s Newcastle Herald article ‘NNSWF First Division in limbo amid NPL licence applications’.

Further to President Keith Couper’s comments included within the article we would like to formally announce that the club is in the process of submitting an application to Northern NSW Football to be a part of their premier competition structure next year. At this stage we are unsure as to what this structure will look like, however we are actively trying to remain within their ‘premier competitions’ through this application process.

We would like to remain focused on season 2016 and our on field objectives. With our U17’s team currently leading the competition and our U19’s side only one win from top spot we would love for our youth teams to finish the season off strongly and push for finals football. Our 1st Grade side has also been climbing up the ladder and now sits in 5th position, and our U23’s team is continually improving, gaining points in four out of their last five matches.
